We began back in the 1920's, as an importer and wholesaler of coffee in Japan. We worked hard and long. Consumed copious quantities of coffee. And learned the lessons of what it takes in a commodity driven business to consistently deliver exceptional quality, service and value to our customers.
In time, we also learned that Mitsui could even better serve customers by vertically integrating our business. So, we began by expanding our operations to include direct country-of-origin sourcing, on-site quality control and distribution planning, and global coffee trading. Again, we worked hard and long. Drank even more coffee. And learned the lessons of what it takes to successfully manage the vagaries of supply and demand and pricing dynamics in the global coffee arena. Equally important, we learned how to master the challenges and complexities of worldwide sourcing and distribution logistics to ensure our customers always get the coffee they need, when and where they need it and at a price point they need to succeed.
Over the decades, we continued to work hard, learn and grow. We strengthened our coffee sourcing relationships and facilities in all the major growing regions of the world. We developed the most sophisticated distribution logistics systems in the business. And expanded our operations to deliver fully integrated “tree to cup” service to our customers.
